Pin Grading

A PIN GRADE is a quality and condition of a pin. All pins undergo "grading" to determine which pins are considered as A GRADE/STANDARD, B GRADE/SECONDS, C GRADE. Thus, pins are priced depending which grade they are.

Please note that I polish all of the pins before grading them. Then, I inspect them under natural lighting or in a well-lit room at a little closer than arm's length. Keep in mind that pin makers grade their pins differently, but these are mine. :)

A GRADE/STANDARD

Very minor flawed to flawless pins! Some minor flaws are only visible under very close inspection, such as: light dust and scratches, very minor filled enamel, light imperfections to metal plating imperfections, and tiny, but not noticeable air bubbles.

B GRADE/SECONDS

Flaws are more noticeable than A grades, but are still highly wearable and can make a good addition to your collection! Some flaws include: noticeable dust, scratches, under-filled enamel, and metal plating imperfections.

C GRADE

Great for a collector who is on a budget. Major flaws are very visible. Some of these flaws include dust, scratches, missing enamel filling, enamel miscoloration, and overflowed enamel.

*Please remember that all pins are handmade in factories, which means that all pins are hand-filled and hand-polished. They are not always perfect.
